The objective of this project is to upgrade the nutritional status of children by supplying high iron and protein products to local markets using rice varieties rich with these properties. Formulation of granular bar and nurtrious biscut using pre-processed puff brown rice, roasted ground nut and green gram flakes with other food ingredients together with sensory evaluation and the nutritional analysis of the product will be performed.  Brown rice will be used as a main nutritional and functional food ingredient which contains more nutritional components such as dietary fibre, phytic acid, vitamin E, vitamin B and Gamma Amino Butyric Acid (GABA) than in the ordinary polished rice.
